We began our
first breeding program, formerly known as Hisaw Australian Shepherds, in
1983. Regi began showing as a pee wee handler in 1984. When she wasnt
showing in pee wee's, you could find her "training" someone else's dogs
or watching The Smurfs with the infamous "London" HOF ASCA/AKC/Int'l/Mex/Premier
CH Bayshore's Three to Get Ready STDds, owned by Marge Stovall of Silverwood Aussies and Frank Baylis of Bayshore Aussies. In 1994, Regi became addicted to
showing after she won her first National Junior Finals at the age of 12
with her bred by bitch, Alli. She was also the # 1 Overall Junior
Handler for five years, as well as a member of the 500 club all five
years (which remains a record). Regi has dabbled in all areas of
competition, but loves the Conformation ring. To date, she has handled over
30 dogs to their ASCA championships from start to finish and major
pointed countless others, as well as titling dogs in other areas of
competition. The Hisaw Kennel bred over 100 Conformation champions as
well as dogs titled in Obedience, Agility, and Working, which had made
it a Hall of Fame Kennel. In 2007, Regi decided to leave the Hisaw
kennel name behind and start a new kennel name, Catori, meaning "spirit"
which is also in relation to her constant sidekick, MBISS ASCA/AKC/Premier CH
Chambray River Cats Pajamas CGC "PJ's".
Regi has dogs that are closely linked to her and her mom's foundation lines.
Regi is a member of ASCA and USASA. In 2009, Regi became of age to apply as an ASCA Breeder Judge and is currently at the Senior level. Before becoming a Breeder Judge, she was given the honor of judging the 2005 National Junior Finals in Conyers, Georgia, as well as a large pre-national show in 2004 in Paso Robles, California. In 2009, she judged Best in Sweepstakes in Greeley, Colorado and in 2011, she was given the opportunity to judge bitches in West Bend, Wisconsin. In 2012, she was honored with judging Junior Showmanship and Best in Show competition at the pre-national show in California and in 2015, she was invited to Tennessee to judge Junior Showmanship and Altered at a pre-national show! In 2016, Regi was asked to judge Best of Breed at a pre-national show in Albany, Oregon and in 2018, the National Junior Finals in Greeley, Colorado. Regi has given handling seminars and lessons in her spare time, as well, including the 2006 German National Specialty and the 1997 and 2003 ASCA National Specialties. In 2019, Regi was approved as an AKC judge. She has enjoyed mentoring and attending seminars for various breeds and in 2021, was invited to judge several Herding breeds at the Royal Canin Puppy Stakes in Orlando, Florida!
Regi is blessed with a wonderfully supportive family, including two teenage sons
and a young daughter who also enjoy the dogs. Regi continues to stay active in showing
dogs and judging as well!
